Who are we and what we do

Hello and welcome to Pawsitive Steps Behaviour and Training. We are a service offering behaviour consultations, 1 to 1 and  a variety of classes.

At Pawsitive Steps we believe in positive reinforcement training and stay away from using fear-based methods. All training will be done on your dog’s terms at your dog’s speed, we also do our upmost to fit any training into your day to day lives as we understand how busy lives can be.

Every dog can benefit from training as using positive methods makes training fun for you and your dog and builds an even greater bond between you.

Have a look through our website and see if we can help you, we look forward to hearing from you and working alongside you and your dog.

About me

Hello my name is Sarah and I’m the founder of Pawsitive Steps Behaviour and Training.  Since a young age I have loved animals and couldn’t imagine a life with out them in. After completing my undergraduate degree in Animal Biology with a 2:1 in 2018 I went on to complete my master degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Lincoln graduating in 2019 with merit.

Over the years I have been lucky enough to work with horses both in riding schools and welfare charities, gaining hands on experience in veterinary surgeries and most recently have spent the last year and a half working in rescue. During my time in rescue I have gained invaluable practical experience including training using reward based methods and improving welfare for the animals in our care.

I have recently received my pre certification and look forward to becoming a fully certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist over the next year with ASAB. I also look forward to working towards full registration with ABTC, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Association of Pet Behaviour counsellors.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

We have two pups Robson and Florence.

Going for walks were stressful times as Florence is anxious and scared so she barks at everything and everyone . This would also upset Robson and he become protective.

Asked Sarah for help, after 2 session things are improving lovely. Long way to go but started to see difference already.

Recommend Sarah she give great advise and techniques

Thank you Sarah so much.

Sarah at Pawsitive Steps Behaviour and Training has been absolutely brilliant with Jax.

We have been working to get Jax to walk nicely on a lead and stop pulling. Within 6 weeks working with Sarah, Jax has improved massively and is engaging with us more on walks.

If anyone is struggling with any aspect of their dogs training or behaviours we can recommend Pawsitive Steps, Jax took to Sarah straight away and really enjoyed his sessions
